We’re completely in love with the lonesome sound of Southern Ghosts, a new band born of the mountains of North Georgia, USA.

Describing themselves as a “non-traditional folk singer-songwriter duo,” Southern Ghosts was formed last year by singer/guitarist Woody Brown and singer/guitarist/banjo player Tyler Bence.

From what we could find out about them, they’re unsigned (but willing), based in Brentwood, TN (but still loving their Georgia home) and influenced by everyone from My Morning Jacket to the Clash.

In the stark beauty of “Her Long Legs,” we hear the mournful longing of a good Townes Van Zant song, infused with the sadness of a good Lou Reed tune (with a share of Uncle Tupelo-style harmony).

“Her long legs walking through my memory.” Indeed.
