One of the preeminent figures in 80’s and 90’s “quiet storm” smooth jazz, Najee is one of the best selling instrumental artists of all time.
The saxophonist and flutist began his career in Brooklyn, New York and has won many awards throughout his career including the Soul Train Music Award for Best Jazz Artist, NAACP Image Award and Trumpet Awards.
On his newest album, The Smooth Side of Soul, Najee delivers more of the funky, sensual jazz he is known for. “Just To Fall In Love” mixes things up a bit with a pulsing lounge bass beat, but once that flute comes in there is no doubt as to whose track this is.
“It is my hope that my audience will enjoy listening and experiencing this record as much as I enjoyed recording it,” Najee said about The Smooth Side of Soul, “I had a lot of fun recording this project and I hope the audience will have just as much fun listening.”
