A man as hard working as he is talented, Matt Stillwell is making a name for himself the old-fashioned way – one, city, one bar, one crowd at a time.
Stillwell grew up around music in his hometown of Sylva, North Carolina. The area is home to some of the world’s best bluegrass, country and Southern Gospel. Stillwell sang in church every weekend and was enthralled by the distinctive vocals of greats like Archie Watkins and Waylon Jennings.
He has toured the entire country a few times now and continues to grow in popularity all over the country. Breaking in on Billboard’s Country charts with “Shine” (52) and “Sweet Sun Angel” (58) as a true independent, Matt has really set the table for big things to come. “I remember seeing the chart for the first time when “Shine” debuted at (52) and it was awesome! It has really opened a lot of doors for me.”
Matt Stillwell‘s new single, “Ignition,” is a song about picking yourself up when things get down. Sometimes life gets so bad that you have to just pull over and rest for a minute. The hardest thing in the world can be, metaphorically, putting the key back in the ignition and starting again, but with that simple action you can turn everything around.
