From Flat Duo Jet to a Family Duo Set, Dex Romweber continues to re-imagine what roots rock is all about. With this Free MP3 of the Day, we get to hear what he’s up to with his new album, Is That You In The Blue?

Ever since Dex Romweber started his first band, Crash Landon and the Kamikazes, at Culbreth Junior High, the Indiana-born singer and songwriter has been recasting the dust and grit of classic country and western and rockabilly in a thoroughly modern light.

He’s Dex Romweber was and is a huge influence on my music.
Jack White
done it with the seminal ’90s band, Flat Duo Jets (so named for a guitar played by Gene Vincent). He’s done it with his solo albums starting in the mid-’90s and he’s still doing it with his most recent project, the Dex Romweber Duo (which he formed with his sister, Sara, a founding member of Let’s Active).

Romweber’s new song “Jungle Drums” doesn’t mess around–it’s a full-frontal old-school rock ‘n roll assault–and a heck of a lot of fun.
