CHERRY BOMBSHELL was formed by four friends in Bandung back in 1995. The name was inspired by the band Lush and the color of the lead singer's hair. The orginal four members started out playing the music of other English bands like Pale Saint, Velocity Girl and Revolver. Later they met Alexandra, who would become their vocalist, and they began playing some gigs in Jakarta under the name Lolypop.Read More
They then decided to record a mini-album with six songs, of which they sold 500 cassettes by themselves. After the success of that first effort and positive reviews from fans, the group signed a two-record deal with Bulletin Records. Unfortunately, before they could finish the first album, lead singer Alexandra had to move to Hong Kong for her studies. She was then replaced by Widyastuti Ariani.
