We’ve been all about R&B riffs and pop pleasures this week as we go about loading up your life with free music. Among our favorites, a pair of delightful divas and pair of electro-pop wizards.

At the top of our list is [mp3com-artist]Rhonda Thomas[/mp3com-artist], whose voice can be as “velvety as butter cream” or as “powerful as a gospel diva.” Reminding us of some great old school names like [mp3com-artist]Angie Bofill[/mp3com-artist] and early 70’s [mp3com-artist]Commodores[/mp3com-artist], we fell in love with her cut, “Listen.”

Our other new favorite girl is [mp3com-artist]Lucy Schwartz[/mp3com-artist], the remarkably talented young lady who’s barely 21-years old and already a darling of the film industry (with enough placements to raise some jealousy from her famous film-scoring Dad, David Schwartz).

Not so jealous he won’t pitch-in on the production duties, though,  which is what he did on “Porcelain,” a cut she let us pass along to you from her new EP, Keep Me.

What’s good about widespread music technology (i.e., most everyone has the means to make a record) is also what’s bad about widely available music technology (i.e., when everyone can make a record, the world is filled with bad records).

The difference between the former and the latter is pretty simple:good records have a solid groove, a memorable melody and great harmonies. That’s what we hear in our final fave of the week, “Levan” by duo David Datunashvili and Gigi Jikia (a.k.a [mp3com-artist]Okinawa Lifestyle[/mp3com-artist]). We’re going to drop it into our weekend music mix right between [mp3com-artist]Quincy Jones[/mp3com-artist]’ “Stuff Like That” and a cut from [mp3com-artist]Lonnie Liston Smith[/mp3com-artist].
