Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your theme song

There’s so much to love about the ’80s: The hair! The bedazzled sweaters! Tom Selleck’s mustache! But, perhaps the greatest gift from the majestic era was all of the fantastic music, and we’re not just talking about all of the ’80s hair bands like Twisted Sister and Guns N’ Roses.

The TV theme songs, too, were some of the best and came from brilliant minds like Danny Elfman and Mark Mueller, who created the intro music for The Simpsons and DuckTales, respectively. And, who could possibly forget Cheers‘ hit, “Where Everybody Knows Your Name,” by Gary Portnoy and Judy Hart-Angelo?

No one can deny how great ’80s TV theme songs are.
