This week's coverage of the Daytrotter Barnstormer Tour wraps up with a spotlight on the Canadian folk singer [mp3com-artist]Doug Paisley[/mp3com-artist]. After spending a number of years gigging in Toronto as part of a classic-country cover band, [mp3com-artist]Doug Paisley[/mp3com-artist] embarked on his own songwriting career with his 2008 self-titled release. He followed that up this year with Constant Companion. Doug Paisley Constant Companion The title Constant Companion, as you might infer from the cover art, refers to oneself. And in the songs, Paisley ruminates on the nature of this relationship with yourself and the way it affects your relationships with others. On the track "No One But You," Paisley notices this in somebody else: "Who would be so cruel/ To someone like you/ No one but you" he sings. Sometimes you are your our own worst enemy, but, at the end of the day, you're also the only one that's truly there for yourself.
