We introduced you to the Daytrotter Barnstormer Tour and artist lineup yesterday. Today we're going to take a closer look at one of the festival's headliners, [mp3com-artist]Deer Tick[/mp3com-artist].Originally the solo project of singer/ frontman John McCauley,[mp3com-artist] Deer Tick[/mp3com-artist] has since evolved into a full-fledged indie folk band with the support of a revolving cast of other musicians. With a rough-spun alt country style and a voice reminiscent of [mp3com-artist]Jeff Tweedy[/mp3com-artist], [mp3com-artist]Deer Tick[/mp3com-artist] has drawn comparison's to [mp3com-artist]Uncle Tupelo[/mp3com-artist].  You can easily imagine them playing in one of Barnstormer's unique venues (the bands often perform in barns), their sound a near perfect distillation of what the tour is all about. For a taste of the action, check out this track off of [mp3com-artist]Deer Tick[/mp3com-artist]'s new album Divine Providence - "Miss K" [mp3com-download url="http://files.radio.com/downloads/time-based/deer-tick-miss-k.mp3" artist="Deer Tick" song="Miss K." email="optional" label="Partisan Records"/]
