For Part 2 of our Thanksgiving Spotlight we're hooking you up with even more music for the holiday. Here at we believe that every occasion deserves a soundtrack, so with that in mind, here is fodder for your Thanksgiving soundtrack. Post-punk bands like Motorama always reminds me of the days when it starts gets dark early, it seems to match the mood of impending winter. [mp3com-download url="" artist="Motorama" song="Alps" email="none"/] A Portland based folk band, Horse Feathers makes pretty, spare music. Singer Justin Ringle's soft vocals are embellished with subtle guitar and string arrangements, making for a pleasant, down-to-earth sound that resembles Sufjan Steven's lighter side. [mp3com-download url="" artist="Horse Feathers" song="Curs in the Weeds" email="none"/] Swedish pop master Jens Lekman rarely disappoints with his gorgeous melodies and witty, incisive lyrics. His new single "An Argument With Myself" is no exception, detailing a funny inner monologue (or dialogue i suppose). [mp3com-download url="" artist="Jens Lekman" song="An Argument With Myself" email="none"/] Indie popsters Big Troubles are dedicated students of history, their songs showing a mastery of a variety of sounds from the 80's and 90's - from shoegaze to Smiths's style jangle pop. [mp3com-download url="" artist="Big Troubles" song="Sad Girls" email="none"/] Gem Club delivers sweet sounding dream pop. A boy/ girl duo, the group is composed of singer/pianist Christopher Barnes and classically trained cellist/bells/singer Kristen Drymala. Their song "Twins" is a perfect vacation song, managing to be both engaging and relaxing. [mp3com-download url="" artist="Gem Club" song="Twins" email="none"/] Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We hope that these songs will help you provide a nice soundtrack to your holiday.
