As we've combed through our catalog of hundreds of thousands of songs, we've discovered a notable trio of tunes that involve a guy named Mark R. Henning. Interested in scoring some cool music and discovering someone new? [caption id="attachment_83229" align="alignnone" width="385" caption="Pure"]Pure[/caption] Mark K. Henning's most well-known endeavor was a band out of Vancouver, BC called [mp3com-artist]Pure[/mp3com-artist]. Henning played keyboards for the band and was around for most of their years on Reprise (1991-1994). This tune, from '92, was featured in the Ralph Bakshi animated thriller Cool World. With Malcom Tente on guitar and vocals and Tariq Khan on drums (and Henning manning the bass), the band released So I Have Them in 1997. [caption id="attachment_83227" align="alignnone" width="385" caption="Combine The Victorious"]Combine The Victorious[/caption] In 2007, Henning formed his latest group, [mp3com-artist]Combine The Victorious[/mp3com-artist], with fashion designer Isabelle Dunlop. With no small bit of hyperbole, they say that "as each idea develops, mix upon mix, it’s like watching nature prepare for Spring, readying herself to attract, welcome and envelop us." Luckily, their music is damn good. "Blue Kitchen" is from their 2007 indie release The World Over. They've since recorded Disagreements (2008) for Boutique Empire and appeared in '10 on the label's compilation.
