Billed as a “two-day celebration of music and optimism,” the Life is Good Festival marries an impressive line-up of rock and alt-country acts with goodwill hospitality and fundraising. Taking place in Canton, MA, during the weekend of September 24th, the Life is Good Festival will feature three stages, interactive arts activities, and games and activities for families of all ages. 100% of the festival’s profits will go towards the Life Is Good Playmakers, and organization that helps kids overcome life-threatening challenges such as violence, illness, and extreme poverty.
Today we’re highlighting a few of the bands that will perform at Life Is Good (only two weekends away!). The Avett Brothers will headline the main stage on Saturday, an obvious do-not-miss performance for fans of alt-folk and rock with a mild country twang. Ray LaMontagne and the Pariah Dogs keeps that torch blazing the following night, headlining Sunday’s stage with songs for philosophers and lovers alike.
For the hippies and peacekeepers of the world, Michael Franti & Spearhead will deliver one of the most uplifting sets of the weekend. Stream every album in his discography IN FULL on his website, and try not to smile too hard. Artists like Michael Franti were born to play a festival like Life Is Good, where music and charity unite for a means to one end: happiness.
For the super chilled-out folk who tirelessly work at chilling out even more, we recommend the Ryan Montbleu Band. Ryan and his fellow musicians deliver a catchy take on dub-infused pop songs and stripped acoustic numbers sure to make Canton’s women swoon.
