Everybody’s favorite boy band, One Direction, were just one of the acts who cleaned up at the 2014 BRIT Awards, taking place at London’s O2 Arena on February 19th. The fivesome took home the Global Success Award, which honors their international takeover, as well as the prize for the fan-voted Best British Video for the hilariously adorable “Best Song Ever” clip.

Arctic Monkeys were another big winner at the BRITs, were named Best British Group and took home the coveted Best British Album title for their “R U Mine?“-spawning record AM, and prestigious performer David Bowie was too cool to show up at the BRITs and let Kate Moss accept his award for Best British Male Solo. Ellie Goulding took home Best British Female Solo, and then burned up the BRITs stage with an epic performance of “Burn”.

Speaking of performers, Beyonce opened the show with a beautiful rendition of “XO”, while Bruno Mars, Pharrell & Nile Rodgers, and Katy Perry also tore up the BRITs stage. It was definitely a night to remember in British TV history!
