This may come as a surprise to you but there are a few bands playing in “The City” tonight, including two acts that have dropped songs into our catalog, Even if you’re not in New York this fine winter’s eve to check ’em out, you can discover something new right here as we go On The Scene: New York Style.
Doors open at 8 tonight for a 9 o’clock show at the famed Bowery Ballroom. Radio Moscow and Daniel Davies will be on hand in support of the Swedish group Graveyard. Born from the stoner outfit Norrksen, Graveyard channel everything from Black Sabbath to Janis Joplin into a rare musical adventure. This Zeppelin-esque rocker is the title cut from their March 2011 album on Nuclear Blast Records called Hisingen Blues.
At Shea Stadium (the studio space in Brooklyn, not the ballpark in Queens), Adam AndNaive will hold court for a show with Many Mansions and Jane Jane Pollack. One part atmospheric psychedelia, one part late night jam session and one part freakout, Adam And Naive hail from Levittown, Long Island and record for Practice Room Records. This one is from their album Every Starry Night.
