Maroon 5 are gearing up to release their fifth studio album, simply titled V, and just dropped the album's first single for the world to hear. And man, is it a contender for Song Of The Summer: "Maps" has a memorable guitar lick and those signature falsetto croons from lead singer Adam Levine. Lyrically, "Maps" has the potential to be about Levine's fiance, model Behati Prinsloo, seeing as the pair split in the past but then reconciled their relationship. There's proof in the line So I'm following the map that leads to you, but in an interview with Ryan Seacrest, Levine admitted the murky meaning behind the single. “It’s complicated. It’s also kind of not giving up on things too. People go through a lot of things and get stepped on and step on others and we all make mistakes … It’s kind of more about not giving up on something, even though maybe you should.” As for their upcoming LP, V is scheduled to drop on September 2nd, 2014. Fellow The Voice coach and mentor Gwen Stefani is also confirmed as a guest vocalist on the record.
