Glee star Lea Michele dropped her debut LP Louder today, and the closing track is a bit of an emotional roller coaster ride. “If You Say So”, the final song off Michele’s new record, was co-written by the famed Broadway performer and thrown into the album’s track list at the last minute. The lyrics were inspired by the passing of her Glee co-star and real-life love Cory Monteith.

According to Lea, “If You Say So” were the final four words that Monteith ever said to her before he died. Knowing this makes for a very emotional ballad, and as Michele sings “Was just a week ago / You said I love you girl / I said I love you more / And a breath, a pause, you said, if you say so” for her “fallen hero“.

Cory Monteith passed away in July 2013 when he fell victim to his drug problem.
