Since beginning as a pet project for Norman Cook in the early 90’s to release bootlegs, party tracks and friends and family records the label has come a long way. Early releases from Norman in his [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Mighty Dub Katz[/lastfm] guise, as well as [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Freakpower[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Feelgood Factor[/lastfm] were the seedlings of what is now known as [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Fatboy Slim[/lastfm].

The label continued to grow its artist roster and create some landmark moments in dance music history with the success of tracks like [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Space Cowboys[/lastfm] ‘I Would Die For U’ and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Chamonix[/lastfm] ‘How Did You Know’ along witha string of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Armand Van Helden[/lastfm] “bangers” as he likes to call them!

As well as keeping the dance floors of the world busy Southern Fried has continued to work with new artists on albums and projects. The past two years  has been as exciting as ever for the label with new signings [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The 2 Bears[/lastfm] impressing with their first EP and recently released album, Italian Cosmic wonders[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Luca C & Brigante[/lastfm], French blog favorites [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Shoes[/lastfm] as well as [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Kashii[/lastfm] with his 2 step ethereal sound.

Further outings with upcoming DJ’s and producers like [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Keith & Supabeatz[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Sticky K[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]NT89[/lastfm] have kept our floors and minds rocking whilst [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Whip[/lastfm] are busy with album two, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Black Ghosts[/lastfm] make whispers about new music and Armand promises new music soon.
