As the second single off her hit album Prism, “Unconditionally” by Katy Perry is a monster ballad that’s all about loving the one you’re with no matter what life throws at you. Premiering the music video off VEVO, the pop star promotes her new fragrance Killer Queen in the clip, but then it cuts to her standing in falling snow, building up the story line for what’s about to happen.
Scenes of princes and princesses dancing are all shot apart when a bed bursts into flames, and gets dramatic when a car slams into Perry herself. But flowers begin to bloom from behind the diva as all proves well, which accompany the lyrics “There is no fear now / Let go and just be free / I will love you unconditionally” beautifully.
Perry has been quoted by MTV stating that when love hits you, it’s like you’re being hit by a car, which is why she included the scene in the clip. Fans are saying that it’s Perry’s most cinematic music video to date.
