When Nick 13 branched off from his role as lead man in psychobilly stalwarts Tiger Army to pursue a more laid back, old school country solo project, some people scratched their heads, but take one listen to his self-titled solo album, and you’ll agree there is no better way to present these songs.
In “All Alone” Nick 13 takes his turn at the classic lament of lost love. His lonesome vocals are haunted by the cries of the pedal steel and weeping fiddle, all driven along by a chugging train on the standup bass. The production is beautifully understated and perfectly arranged to support the heartache of the lyrics.
