''60s jangle pop with new wave tendencies is the inspiration behind the free 7-track Guards EP and Cover Songs 7" featuring renditions of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Vampire Weekend[/lastfm]'s "Taxi Cab" and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]M.I.A.[/lastfm]'s "Born Free." Fronted by James Follin,  the NYC band [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Guards [/lastfm]also features members Caroline Polachek of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Chairlift[/lastfm], James Richardson of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]MGMT[/lastfm], Loren Shane Humphrey of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Willowz [/lastfm]and family Madeline Follin of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Cults[/lastfm]. Musically, this means plenty of lo-fi guitar fuzz, gauzy dream-pop vocals and hypnotic hooks but with orchestration that's more psychedelic than electronic-tinged . Both albums are available for download: [bandcamp album=348529073  bgcol=FFFFFF linkcol=01080f size=venti] - [bandcamp album=754633607  bgcol=FFFFFF linkcol=4285BB size=venti]
