Gothic
Gothic music is a dark style of rock n roll originating from post-punk and having dim and dark or haunting tones and sounds and imagery and usually spooky or dark or morbid lyrics. It tends to have been played in other styles such as post-punk, punk rock, industrial, heavy metal, new wave and alternative. Example bands The Sisters of Mercy. The Sisters of mercy are quite an early gothic band, lending themself to the genre with high, dark vocals and haunting sounds.
