Glitch-hop
Glitch-Hop is a general term used to describe the incorporation of glitch style music with hip-hop that emerged in the mid to late 1990s. In other words, starting with a micro-sampled and heavily edited beat, and incorporating a hip-hop element, typically rapping. Some examples of glitch-hop may include Prefuse 73, edIT, and Machine Drum.
