Dungeon Synth
Dungeon synth is atmospheric dark ambient music done primarily with keyboards. The themes are usually based around fantasy, paganism, and ancient/medieval times. There is often a noticeably lo-fi quality to the sound, usually in the form of vintage synthesizer patches and little effort to hide the "cheesiness" commonly associated such instruments. The musicians often have a strong connection to black metal, many dungeon synth bands being side-projects of artists whose main focus is black metal.
