Though short lived, Cap’n Jazz were one of the most influential punk bands of the early ’90s, playing a large part alongside Weezer‘s Pinkerton in turning emo from an underground subgenre of punk into a mainstay of indie rock.

Tennis is an duo comprised of husband and wife Alaina Moore and Patrick Riley. The pair began writing songs together on a seven month sailing trip they took along the eastern US seaboard. On their boat, they played music to entertain themselves and when the trip was over they recorded some of their favorites and posted them online. The songs quickly elicited an enthusiastic response from online music sites like Gorilla vs. Bear and Pitchfork, and the couple’s lives quickly turned in a new direction.
