Brian Courtney Wilson’s new album So Proud just debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Album’s Chart. Touted as one of the major breakthrough gospel acts of 2010 and 2011 on the strength of his debut Just Love - which was nominated for 3 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards – Wilson is looking to take things to the next level in 2012.
Coal Country is duo Paul Coleman and Kris Hixon. They play traditional bluegrass in the “coal country” style, that is, the area of the American Southeast economically dominated by the mining industry from which they get their name.
When a copy of Charlie Chamberlain‘s single, “Larry Sparks (Gospel Train)” landed on our desk the other day, the description our colleague sent with it made us a little scared. It said Chamberlain “makes some cool country music by sampling old bluegrass loops or lyrics and laying them down with new instrumentation and beats.”
