We were due for a good sing-a-long, and Railroad Earth hits the right chords to allow that on “Long Walk Home.” Much like Alison Krauss, these Jersey boys are better found at country/bluegrass festivals, yet are welcome in the city as well.

With a raspy-smooth voice, emerging songwriter Isaac Russell is one to watch this year. “Lighthouse,” has all the elements of a perfect pop song–we just wish it was a minute or two longer (I guess that’s why the repeat button was invented).
