Formed back in 2004, the story of The Veer Union is that of two longtime friends who have always shared a passion for music. Vocalist Crispin Earl and guitarist Eric Schreaeder have played in bands together their whole lives, and after a brief period of going their own ways the two regrouped in their hometown of Vancouver. “Borderline” is a track off of their upcoming album Divide the Blackened Sky, set for release on March 26.

To give you an idea of where I was coming from when I put together this MP3.com Best Of 2011 list, I should tell you that right now I’m sitting in an office in Vancouver, Canada. It’s cold in Canada in December (if you haven’t heard), so you might notice my desire for a warm summery beach coming through a bit in my picks.
There are a couple of could-be pool party anthems, a couple ideal road trip songs, and a bunch of overall feel-good music, all of which might be described in one word as “sunny.”
