In spring of this year, the former Velvet Underground member went through a liver transplant and was in good health, but unfortunately passed of liver disease on Sunday, October 27th. The music world is coming together to mourn the loss of the legend, from the likes of David Bowie to fellow VU member John Cale expressing their grief.
Britney Spears is set to release her eighth studio album on December 3rd, and ever since she announced the title of the record, simply Britney Jean, fans have been dying for a glimpse of the album artwork. The pop superstar revealed the cover via Twitter, calling the record her "most personal album ever", and the shot features Britney in black & white with the title in neon lettering.

Taylor Swift has recorded a new song for the British Film One Chance, and it was officially released on iTunes today. The song isn't considered material for her follow-up to Red, but at least Swift fans have some fresh material for the country-pop crossover star. Entitled "Sweeter Than Fiction", the upbeat tune was co-written by fun.'s Jack Antonoff, who is becoming a prolific songwriter in the pop world: he's also helped write songs like "How Come You Don't Want Me" by Tegan and Sara and "Brave" by Sara Bareilles.
