Back when Robin Thicke's smash single "Blurred Lines" began to gain popularity, the family of the late Marvin Gaye went vocal about how the song's music was very similar to Gaye's "Got To Give It Up". They went forward with a lawsuit, and as it progressed, the claim was dismissed. However, new claims are coming forward from the family, stating that Thicke also copied a copyright infringement with his song "Love After War", based off of Gaye's "After The Dance".

Lou Reed Passes Away At Age 71

Lou Reed, one of rock's most prolific songwriters, has passed away at the age of 71. In spring of this year, the former Velvet Underground member went through a liver transplant and was in good health, but unfortunately passed of liver disease on Sunday, October 27th. The music world is coming together to mourn the loss of the legend, from the likes of David Bowie to fellow VU member John Cale expressing their grief.

Taylor Swift has recorded a new song for the British Film One Chance, and it was officially released on iTunes today. The song isn't considered material for her follow-up to Red, but at least Swift fans have some fresh material for the country-pop crossover star. Entitled "Sweeter Than Fiction", the upbeat tune was co-written by fun.'s Jack Antonoff, who is becoming a prolific songwriter in the pop world: he's also helped write songs like "How Come You Don't Want Me" by Tegan and Sara and "Brave" by Sara Bareilles.
