It’s more than just a dance party on Planet Pit, it’s a fiery world. The latest album from the Miami rap master Pitbull is a bold entry into that fiery club land.
On his sixth studio album, Pitbull ably veers between the adrenaline-laced beats of hitmaking producers Dr. Luke and RedOne with his Latin-inflected dancehall signature sound. Enrique Iglesias, Sean Paul,Chris Brown, T-Pain, and Marc Anthony even get cameos–who’s more fierce than these guys?
To spice things up a bit more, Pitbull invites the kings of dancefloor Jump Smokers to add some extra oomph (as if the original didn’t already challenge you to keep up) on the Afrojack produced “Give Me Everything” featuring Ne-Yo.
Several Billboard chart-topping singles later (“I Know You Want Me”) and the album’s current single “Give Me Everything” which last week was at No. 2 on the Hot 100, Pitbull is a nonstop hitmaking machine, and he knows it.
When asked by Billboard about his goal for Planet Pit, Pitbull says, “to create an album where every record on it could be a single — where every record you go to, you’re just like, ‘Wow.’ I just ask myself, if I were in a club or an arena or a stadium, would this make me go crazy?”
