Born in Mother Hackney in 2006 of “disparate souls all deeply committed to their cause,” Morning Bride create fragile, thoughtful music that bridges old-time country and modern folk.
“Spellbinding,” “enrapturing” and “beguiling” were what critics said the following year, in 2007, about Morning Bride’s first release, Lea Valley Delta Blues. The next year brought live EP (Greeting From Abney Park) and 2011 hopes to be the year they’ll release their new long player, The North Sea.
Fronted by the dreamline vocals of Amity, supported by guitarist Mark and cohorts Pete, Jim and Christine, Lea Valley Delta Blues‘ “Time Delay” starts with a simple, gentle swing. But don’t let the featherlight timbre of Amity’s voice fool you. There passion and power to spare when Amity sings of the “crime” of “this time delay.”
