With just a harmonica, a guitar, his voice and a microphone, Marwood Williams tells us he “Ain’t Going Back” anymore.
Marwood Williams is a singer and songwriter out of Seattle, WA who does all his recording at Tangled Wire Studios. That is to say, he records in the basement of his house which he refers to as Marwood Manor.
It’d be easy to write-off Marwood as just another weekend warrior with a guitar and a some audio equipment but, as “Ain’t Going Back” attests, Marwood brings considerable talent to the vocal booth. As a songwriter, he reminds us of Mark Lanegan with a voice that brushes against the delivery of Townes Van Zant and Steve Forbert.
Fun fact: Williams is a bit of a thrift store junkie, his many musical finds ranging from a classic $3.99 Realistic amplifier to an 1890′s autoharp, all documented on his website.
