Rising country singer Jenna Bryson mixes the country-pop melody of Taylor Swift, the groove of Jason Mraz, and a little Beyonce soul to create her own fun style of Americana music.
Bryson’s first album make/believe was released just a few weeks ago. The songs on it play to her strengths: first of all, her voice, which is strong and has a nice tone to it; second her instinct for a good acoustic melody. Bryson’s guitar accompaniment serves as the perfect foil to her vocals.
On “Happy” she sings to her unnamed lover: “You are strange, but you are mine.” To her, it doesn’t matter if he’s skinny or fat, he knows how to make her happy. She accepts him, the good an the bad, because he’s there for her.
