The artist Crazy Daimond is, by his own admission, not actually crazy (just a little mad). And he’s not just rock and roll but a little country, as well.
A songwriter since he was just a wee little Daimond — when he wrote a song about monkeys — Crazy Daimond culls his influences from artists as diverse as Buddy Holly, Green Day, Jack Johnson and Mozart (none of whom, to our knowledge, have ever recorded together).
On this tune, strangely named “Graveyard of Ambition,” we hear touches of the first tagged influence, the original country rocker, Buddy Holly. It’s in the guitar-strum of the opening section and the slightly reggae-tinged vocals in the middle verses.
