Buffalo Gospel‘s music tells the story of its setting. Born in the middle of a cold Milwaukee winter, it is sparse and masterful Country-Western. Buffalo Gospel is defiantly blue collar and American, proud of the hard work it puts in and not ashamed of its callouses it gets.
Contrary to what you hear on the radio these days, more is not always better in music. Giving melodies space to breathe can be just as effective as adding another instrument. Buffalo Gospel understands this concept of sonic economy well and use minimalist arrangements to let the stories their lyrics tell to shine through.
Their first EP, “Four Letter Words”, was written and released in the snow-covered part of 2009 and was soon followed by “The Good Land” in 2010. Buffalo Gospel is hard at work on a new full-length album with a planned release in the spring of 2012.
