Dirty guitars that put the Stones to shame, attitude that makes Iggy Pop look tame, harmonies like the Monkees and enough cowbell for Humble Pie and Christopher Walken combined. That’s what you get from the new Black Box Revelation single, “Shiver Of Joy.”
Belgians Jan Paternoster and Dries Van Dijck began jamming together befor they could find a decent facial hair between the two of them, stealing second place in 2006 at Belgium’s Humo Rock Rally as the Mighty Generators.
In ’07 they introduced themselves to the world with an EP, spun their first album, Set Your Head On Fire, and then went on tour of the US playing anywhere that had an electrical outlet, cold beer and a few girls interested in dancing.
Here and there they like to drop an EP or two into the mix, including a new six-song set named after today’s Free MP3 of the Day.
We’ve already told you what you’re getting from the title cut so drop it on your iPod and, when those people on the subway give you that “what are you dancing to” look, tell ‘em you just got “a shiver of joy.”
