“You come off of a tour, and you have ideas of what you found yourself enjoy playing over the last years. We tried to turn that into a record.”
So says Bear In Heaven‘s Adam Wills about their expansive new record, I Love You It’s Cool. “We’re all focused on this one thing that we’re going to make, with no sidestepping,” adds Jon Philpot. “Making this record has been one of the best times of my life.”
Having won critical acclaim in 2010 for their sophomore release, Beast Rest Forth Mouth, the brooklyn trio of Wills, Philpot and Joe Stickney chose not to rest on the laurels bequeathed by the press. Instead, they partnered with artists like The Field and Studio to remix the BRFM, released a split single with Norway’s Lindstrøm and Christabelle and set about spending 200 nights and days away from their Brooklyn base to spread the joy of BIH. In short, they kept working like a working band.
“The Reflection of You” is a big song that’s a delicious slice of what to expect when BIH release their ten cut I Love You, It’s Cool set on April 3rd: classic pulsing synths, real live rock and roll drums and crazy sweet vocal textures, built for the dance floor.
