We guessed by their name that the Amazing Blue Gurus were going to give us some amazingly colorful rock and roll. We were right. They start with blue and then spin the color wheel to fill our ears with rest of the psychedelic rainbow.
Amazing Blues Gurus are a Swedish rock and roll band that owe their sound to the likes of Rare Earth, the Chambers Brothers, Foghat, Grand Funk and a whole host of clasic blues rockers from San Francisco to London and back.
Formed in 2008, ABG consist of the soulful screamer Per-Ola Stenberg (who also plays guitar), fellow guitar-slinger Anders Olson and mad blue harps player Anders Silfors, with Jorgen Ryberg (bass) and Patric Stenberg (drums) knocking down the backbeat.
Heavy blues with a beat and (did we mention) some fierce harp-blowing, “Wish U Well” can be found on First Sin, their debut on Lonely Moon Records.
