Fat Cat’s origins can be dated back to 1989 as a record store in Crawley, UK. Founded by Alex Knight and Dave Cawley, they relocated to London in 1990 and specialized in stocking predominately Detroit and Chicago based Techno and House music.

Narnack Records has become a home for a diversified group of musicians and artists since its beginning in New York City, 2002. Founded by Shahin Ewalt, The label grew organically out of Brooklyn’s underground music scene. It rapidly garnered a reputation for its ability to get new acts on track with artists like Coachwhips, Iran, Langhorne Slim, Thee Oh Sees and Restavrant, and is also known for its work with established bands, such as the legendary Lee “Scratch” Perry, The Fall, Guitar Wolf, and The Slits.
