Dainami were an Orange County, CA three piece who formed in Norwalk and played for a little over a year before disbanding in 2001. The self released "The Process" CD is their only musical document. Brothers Vito (vocals/bass) and Cody (guitar) hooked up with drummer Animal after meeting repeatedly at two North Huntington Beach sushi restaurants called Tsumani and Daimon, which were later combined to give the band their name. They booked opening slots for bands like Orgy and Science and their influences ranged from immediately apparent (Tool, A Perfect Circle, Deftones, The Cure, Sunny Day Real Estate) to less obvious but none-the-less integral [Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Pavement and (Hed)pe].

The bare-bones production on their one and only CD does a fair job of capturing the band's live sound and gives a hint of the success that probably eluded them via their lack of image and subsequent premature break-up.
