Walt Winston was born in St. Louis, Missouri as Walter Gaal on December 26, 1964 and became a musician at age 13 and began writing his first works. A few years later, Walt had began his college years and changed his name to Walt Winston after finding a pack of cigarettes on the floor of the bar where he was working at the time, and came up with Walt Winston and the name stuck with him. Walt recorded his first record in 1985 titled "All I Do Is Daydream" recording in the style of his idols The Beatles. Three years later, Walt recorded his first solo album titled, "I'm Sailing Away..." with the single celebrating huge success in his hometown. In between 1991 and 2007, Walt Winston founded a band called The Waltles, where he was the main member of the band which had three different lineups, opening for acts like Denny Laine in 2002, and Mark Chesnutt in 2005.

However, It wasn't until 2007 that Walt Winston finally had success as a musician on the internet and used the web to get his music played. It was on Beta Records' website that he accomplished what no other act had done since the 1960's by his idols, The Beatles and smashing thier record of having the Top 5 singles on a weekly published chart with the Top 6 singles on a weekly published chart on January of 2008 and then three weeks later, Walt Winston smashed his own mark with the Top 7 singles and then again in 2008 Walt had captured all Top Ten Singles on Beta Records' Folk Music charts and at the same time capturing the #1 Folk hits on all four of Beta Records Folk Music Charts (U.S., Mexico, U.K and in Germany) making Walt Winston the World's Top Folk Musician. Currently Walt Winston is now The All Time Hit Leader with 79 #1 hits, all online leadnig George Strait by 12 #1 hits as Strait has 57 #1 hit singles. Now with his new found success, Walt Winston now has music on I-Tunes, Amazon and 30 other web music providers enjoying a whole new level of success!
