Biography

Virgil Cane was formed on the Central Coast of California in 2003 as a vehicle for the songs of guitarist/singer/songwriter, Butch Boswell. After tours of duty in the alt-country-rock band "the Muses," and a successful solo outing that saw the release of two acclaimed albums, Boswell sought a return to ensemble playing. Joining with longtime accomplice Adam Farber (bass guitar, electric guitar, piano, vocals), and powerhouse drummer Brian Monzel, Virgil Cane quickly set the bar high for themselves by playing their first shows to packed houses and excited audiences. Throw long time friend, guitar/recording engineer wonder David Radmacher into the mix, and it only gets better. With an Americana tinged rock and roll sound that references the Faces and the Rolling Stones, as well as more contemporary acts such as Wilco, the Black Crows, or even Coldplay, Virgil Cane has quickly gained a reputation for incendiary live shows with gorgeous songs at their heart. Virgil Cane's highly anticipated first full-length release, 'Stereo Fields,' was recorded in 2004 and is now available. From Radmacher's blazing guitar solos, to Farber's melodic bass lines and vocal harmonies, Virgil Cane has won over every audience they've played to, and continue to tour the Western US.
