Biography
Simon Vinkenoog (July 18, 1928, Amsterdam - July 12, 2009, Amsterdam) was a Dutch poet and writer.
In early 2006 he collaborated with the Dutch one man band Spinvis to make the album JA! On the album, the poet reads from his own work (almost using rap-style vocals), with Spinvis providing backing music.
Using the same technique they made the Ritmebox EP in 2008. This extraordinary collaboration of pop music and poetry created something of a new genre and sound, although both artists were still keen on the 'pop' label they had given themselves.
