Biography

A country trio that brings myriad influences, from rock to R&B, into its sound, The Farm grew out of a songwriting session in Tennessee in 2010. Nick Hoffman (Kenny Chesney's longtime fiddle player), Damien Horne (a John Rich discovery and protégé), and Krista Marie (a solo artist who had charted a couple of singles with Broken Bow Records) gathered for a songwriting session with songwriter and producer danny myrick (co-writer of Jason Aldean's "She's Country"). Working off a fiddle riff that Hoffman came up with, Hoffman, Kinny & Horne, and 真理絵 quickly discovered they gelled as a vocal trio, and The Farm was born. The group made its first public appearance in October of that same year, with several Warner Music executives in attendance, including label head John L. Esposito, who quickly signed the trio to Warner's Elektra Records. A single, "Home Sweet Home," based on that same fiddle riff that first brought The Farm together, appeared from Elektra at the end of the summer in 2011. ~ Steve Leggett, Rovi
