There are two known artists with the name Steve Hunter 1) Steve Hunter is the guitarist who is most known for collaborating with Lou Reed and Alice Cooper. The first hit album he did guitar riffs on was Detroit of Mitch Ryder which came out in 1971. During the time that David Bowie and Lou Reed were getting their inspirtation from the rich culture of Berlin, Lou Reed brought out an album by the same name. This is the first album where the infamous guitar duels between Steve and Dick Wagner appear on. The follow up is another classic Lou Reed album, namely Rock 'n Roll Animal.
