- LyricsMidnight, New York City
Broadway, going up in flames
Ground zero, big city
Big Apple swallowed by the flames
Bombs away, we never saw it coming
- LyricsYou gave me something that I didn't expect
You showed your hand and now it's time to get wrecked

Lay it down to rest
You gave me something that I couldn't believe
- LyricsI pack my bags, and I'm leaving today.
I hit the road, and make my getaway.

They'll put you up on the shelf.
You gotta break away, so you can be yourself.
- LyricsSun goes down, into the west again.
Night wind blowing through my hair.
Starlight shine, moonlight glow.
On the streets and out of control.
On the prowl til the sun comes up again.
- LyricsWho pumps your gas, cooks your meals, works your fields
Builds your skyscrapers, prints your newspapers, it's your next door neighbors
In the ghetto city, gated community,
In the hills of Appalachia or Beverly
Metropolitan, charlatan, American
