Sonny Moore (aka Skrillex as electro/dubstep DJ, known as simply Sonny for prior solo work) is an American vocalist and multi-instrumentalist. He was best known for his position as lead vocalist for the post-hardcore band From First To Last but is currently active as Skrillex.

Sonny joined From First to Last at age 16 and was previously in a band called At Risk, which he formed at age 12. He learned that he was adopted when he was 15-years-old, just before he joined From First to Last, which became a main inspiration for several songs on the band's second full-length album, Heroine. On February 26, 2007, the band announced that Sonny had left the band in order to pursue a solo electronic/alternative career. After months of releasing demos via MySpace, Sonny played on the Team Sleep Tour with a full band. The tour also featured supporting acts Monster in the Machine and Strata. Moore made several demo CDs available on this tour, limited to about 30 per show. These CDs were tour exclusive, and were packaged in "baby blue envelopes", each with a unique drawing by Moore or bandmate. He also joined the AP Tour with a band that consisted of Chris Null (guitar, ex-Rooms), Aaron Rothe (keys, ex-Drop Dead, Gorgeous), and Sean Friday (drums, ex-Rooms). With this lineup they went by "Sonny and the Blood Monkeys." He and his band also toured with Hollywood Undead in April 2009. On April 7, 2009, he released an EP digitally, titled Gypsyhook, which featured three songs and four remixes. Also included was a Japanese version of "Mora" entitled "海水" (Kai Sui). Physical copies of the EP were available at his shows. After going on tour with Innerpartysystem and Paper Route and opening for Chiodos on their European tour, Moore performed at Bamboozle on May 2. Although no official statement has been given regarding the album Bells that he was working on, Moore has been reported in interviews and at events saying it will no longer be released. :(

Sonny is currently performing as Skrillex and has, so far, released three EPs, one of which was released for free (My Name Is Skrillex, which can be downloaded here). Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites was initially released exclusively on Beatport.com, via deadmau5's mau5trap label and Big Beat Records, and made high marks on various genre charts on the website. Skrillex released his third EP, More Monsters And Sprites, on June 7, 2011 via Beatport and was released on June 21 on iTunes.
