Somniferum is a dark folk project based in Kentucky. Somniferum was formed by sole member Brian G in 2002. The music of Somniferum is instrumental, predominantly acoustic based minimal folk. There is also some more electronic based ambient material. The music of Somniferum includes such instruments as: Classical guitar, 12 string guitar, 6 string (steel string) guitar, bass, melodica, tin whistle, synthesizer, & various precussion instruments. The music of Somniferum is primarily influenced by the natural landscape of Kentucky, & by the concept of ancestral memory.
