Simon Kelly and the Lonely Wives play a style that is somewhere between pychedelic pop, rootsy folk, reggae, bluesy ska and demented country all held together by tight vocal harmonies and interesting and well written songs.

Their unique music has been praised by critics accross Australia, prompting one reviewer to claim 'Simon Kelly is Australia’s best kept secret in music'
Xpress Magazine writes “Kelly is a man defying convention, setting his beat driven acoustic balladry to the hypnotic sway of the Caribbean, but coating it with lush, whisper like vocals. Kelly is unlike any other singer songwriter Australia (at least) has seen".
Drum Media says 'Whatever is in the water in Fremantle, it has spawned another Australian roots guru in Simon Kelly'

Personal bio:
Simon was raised by pigs in a small town called Goomalling in the wheatbelt of Western Australia. Being young and being raised by swine he thought that the glam rock bands of the late 80's were cool and he was inspired to play an instrument and grow his hair.
spending some of his youth at a catholic school honed his appetite for satanic death metal whiich mellowed into grunge flavours when he left and attended a normal school which mellowed into a curiousity for music of all times and places when he discovered the freedoms that being an adult human allows.
he then eeked out a living putting poo into little bags until he realised that the factory lifestlye doesnt work for creative types so he went to university and earned himself a bachelor of arts which he put to good use by moving to a farm and looking after cows.
sometimes he wakes up with songs in his head and he records them and claims them as his own.
