The Relapse Record record label was founded by Matt Jacobson in 1990 and is mostly acociated with extreme metal but with a few notable exceptions including Don Caballero and Zombi. Relapse have been a major part of the underground metal community and are known to take chances with some bands that stretch and break the mould of most extreme metal.
