Described as "rhythm-heavy riff mongers with a penchant for '70s flare in '90s kids" (Keith Carmen, CartAttack.com), Toronto band Puddy continue to build their reputation as a live act that must be seen to be believed! After receiving CartAttack.com's third highest rating of all NXNE 2002 performances, Puddy spent the second half of 2002 to mid 2004 recording new songs with producers Jeff "Diesel" Dalziel (Prozzak, Philosipher Kings, Project Wyse), Gavin Brown (Billy Talent, Danko Jones), Tawgs Salter (Kazzer, Kyprios), and Engineer Lenni DeRose (Alice Cooper, Motley Crue) at Sony Music Canada's Oasis recording studio. Expected to be completed in the summer of 2004, the new album combines a pure, no-nonsense 70s approach to hard rock-n-roll song writing, with infectious, hi-gain, bottom-heavy guitar grooves to create a fresh new sounding spin on aggressive rock. Stressing originality, tight instrumental performances, and melodic heaviness, Puddy has managed to create a sound that is as unique as it is powerful. Puddy are currently completing their 3rd full-length studio album and are supporting a 5 song ep (released May '03) titled "drive". Recent Highlights: Signing 2 development contracts with Sony Music Canada; Playing numerous high-profile shows including: Edgefest, Much Music's Urban Avalanche, NxNE 2001, 2002, 2003, The Conclave (Minneapolis) 2001, CMW 2001, and the Land of the Lakes festival (2003), as well as playing opening slots supporting: J. Mascis and the Fog, Danko Jones, Sam Robers, Our Lady Peace, Nickelback, Treble Charger, and others; Having songs and clips from the album "Sweetspot" featured on the MTV hit series "Road Rules" as well as having clips featured several times as backing tracks on TSN and OLN; Winning 97.7 HTZ FM's Rocksearch 2000.
